Man, think about a woman who made the whole world tremble, even Adolf Hitler’s Gestapo secret police couldn’t catch her, and was at the top of their Most Wanted list. Just hearing her name makes the Nazi army bosses tremble.

She is Nancy Wake.. But the name the Nazi army gave her is different. They called her The White Mouse. Why is that..? No matter how many traps they set, how much they chased her, slipping away at the last moment was like eating cashews for Nancy.

Today we are going to read the story of the most fierce and brave spy in world history.

💄 Nancy is an Australian by birth. But she was raised in New Zealand. Later, she went to Europe to study journalism. It was while she was traveling in Germany in the 1930s that she saw the inhuman torture of Jews by Hitler’s Nazi army. Seeing how people were beaten in the middle of the streets and how people in wheelchairs were dragged out made Nancy’s blood boil.

She thought that one day she would give these criminals their due.

Nancy is a very beautiful and stylish woman. She always wore lipstick, was very neat, and fashionable. She married Henri Fiocchi, a wealthy businessman in France, and lived a very comfortable life. But when World War II began, she decided to give up her comfortable life and go to the battlefield.

🚲 Nancy first helped the Resistance groups fighting the Nazis in France. She carried messages and helped prisoners of war escape. She was so skilled that she slipped away while smiling right in the face of Nazi soldiers.

One day, she had to cycle 500 kilometers through many Nazi checkpoints to deliver a message. She did it in 71 hours, without eating or drinking. She later said, “By the end of the journey, I couldn’t even walk, I was crying.” But she succeeded in her mission.

The Gestapo even offered a reward of 5 million pounds for her capture. (A crazy amount at the time) But they couldn’t even think of catching Nancy.

🔥 Nancy is not just a spy looking for information. She is a skilled soldier who received special training in Britain. Parachuting into France, she led a 7,000-man fighting force.

On one occasion, when a Nazi guard shouted to alert the others, Nancy broke his neck with her bare hands. “The things I learned in judo worked,” she said. She was as skilled with a gun as she was with a foot and hand.

Another day, she bombed a Nazi army headquarters and destroyed it. Even through all this, Nancy did not put away her lipstick or perfume. She said that she did not want to look ugly while fighting.

💔 While Nancy was fighting the Nazis like this, the Nazis captured her beloved husband, Henry. When they asked him where Nancy was, he did not say a word. In the end, the Nazis executed Henry.

Nancy found out about this after the war was over. That pain remained in her heart until her last breath. She dedicated her entire life to saving the world from this Nazi plague.

🎖️ After World War II, Nancy Wake became the woman who won the most military awards in the world. Countries like Britain, France, and America awarded her the highest honors.

Until her death in 2011 at the age of 98, she remained a very courageous woman. She once said, “When I die, my ashes will be scattered over the French mountains where I fought against the Nazi army.” That request was fulfilled.

💡 What we should learn from Nancy
